Description
Created at The Huntington Library's botanical gardens and featuring James Folsom, Director of the Botanical Gardens, "Mr. Huntington's Garden" spans a ten year period starting in 1995, with new episodes produced monthly for broadcast on public television stations in Southern California. In this episode: Folsom introduces new Education and Volunteer Services Manager Sue Lafferty at entrance pavilion, Lafferty on school tours - 30,000 children through the gardens each year, new George Washington exhibit. Folsom in in renovated Bookstore, Botanical Center site with Tom Osborne of Pozzo Construction, firm will also renovate the Carriage House (later to be called Boone Gallery), Head House, Roadway, Gardens maintenance area, slope outside complex, lunch courtyard, North Vista, October is lawn renovation time, Chrysanthemum show, Fountain at HNT since 1912 - must be 250 years old, Cascade mums in fountain, Fountain cleaned and replanted, added fancy goldfish, Ann Richardson joins Folsom, took crew of 5 four days to plant the mums, Camellia garden docent training, International Camellia Congress 2001.
