At the General Assembly of Lutheran World Federation/LWF in Dar es Salaam on 13th - 26th June 1977 Bishop Josiah M. Kibira of Tanzania was elected President against A. W. Habelgaarn of South Africa. The asssembly pays homage to the newly elected President Bishop Kibira (at the centre). (Used in: DMS Årbog 1978).
