Description
Elisabeth Waldo was born on June 19, 1918 in Yakima, Washington. She is is an authority on pre-Columbian music and an award-winning composer and violinist.
Photograph caption dated August 4, 1955 reads "Relaxing by a fountain in the informal gardens of her Spanish-style home is Elizabeth (sic) Waldo. When photographer asked her to pose out-of-doors with violin, Miss Waldo graciously obliged, but commented, 'Musicians seeing this picture will think I'm awfully foolish taking a nice instrument like this into the sun!'"
