View of a corner building with short side on left with 2 vertical windows & long side on the right with 8 vertical windows; all windows decorated above with a lintel with a round arch in center; on 1st floor long side are two advertisements for "Enbee Shirts" and "The Davis Store - Men's Furnishings"; to the right is a "Barber Shop" identified on building & beside it on right is the awning for a hotel; roof of building has a balustrade interrupted by 7 chimneys corresponding roughly to windows below; at extreme left is a 3 story "hotel" distinguished by angular bay windows; on extreme right of photo is building with 3 faceted roof domes with peaks. Hotel Bachelor to left.
Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento.
