News reel from KNTV San Jose broadcast on October 13, 1965; may be combination of the early and late news, includes national, local, sports and weather. Part 1: Jerry Ducote, former member of the John Birch Society, comments on attacks from Republican party; Harry Bridges, head of the International Longshoreman's and Warehouseman's Union is asked whether the Viet Nam Day Committee is accomplishing anything by its opposition to U.S. policy; John Chancellor, head of Voice of America, speaking in Bay Area about the purpose of VOA. Part 2: John Wesley, informal head of San Jose Vietnam counter-protest group, talks about planned counter-demonstration; silent footage of June 18, 1965 launch of the Titan 3C (or Titan III-C) rocket launch; Santa Clara County Counsel Spencer Williams discusses hearing on tax assessment practices. Part 3: Man [Santa Clara Police Chief?] discusses rise in crime rate and whether court decisions have made it more difficult for police to do their job; silent film of Santa Clara policemen receiving awards or certificates; silent footage of hearing.
