Description
Photograph of a large land-bound group of spectators viewing thirteen sailboats as they sail through the water, ca.1930. The dock in the rightmost foreground is strewn with people, some standing atop a wooden two-story structure overlooking the water. The channel is lined with sailboats, each bearing a number sewn into its mast. A man in what appears to be a kayak cuts through the boats in the center of the photograph. In the background, another shoreline is visible, lined with a spectator-strewn boardwalk. A large house sits on the right-hand side of the background, surrounded by palm trees. Another smaller house can be seen at the leftmost corner of the background. Several rows of palm trees lie between the two structures. In the far distance, a series of metal towers can be seen.
