Description
Compilation reel. First film "Electricity for the Modern Farm" (c. 1919), contemporary references available online. Followed by Thomas A. Edison as he tours the General Electric Company laboratories in Schenectady, New York in 1922 (Dun's International Review, January 1923). Part 1 15:01-21:03 Footage of Edison with photometer and illuminated lamps; Part 2: 21:59-34:26 Intertitle Mr. Edison and Dr. Charles P. Steinmetz ride in a car and are greeted by twenty thousand employees, footage of Dr. Coolidge explaining process of ductile tungsten, 31:07 women at work in plant with lamps; Beginning 34:41-39:16 President Herbert Hoover and dedication of Edison Institute of Technology at Greenfield Village, Michigan, 1929. Footage repeats at end and is clearer in parts than the quality at beginning of film.
