Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated April 12, 1952 reads, "This pile of splintered wreckage was all that was left today of what used to be a house trailer in Van Nuys. It blew up like a bomb, injuring three people. Mary N. Ballard, 34, who was asleep in the trailer, was rescued from death by Frank Kroutil, 45, who also was hurt. Third person injured was Mrs. Kazuko Homada, 22, an expectant mother who was in an adjoining trailer. Leaky butane gas tank was blamed."
