Description
Annotation translation: "Daniel Lambib. One night he experienced a real hunger for God, got up, and went to the nearest teacher, whom he woke, in order to hear about God from him. He decided to become a christian. His fellow-villagers threatened to kill him, but his hunger for God only grew. After baptismal instruction which lasted for one-and-a-half years he went home on the day before his baptism, and greeted his father, who prophesied his death if he persisted in being a christian. He was baptised by Rev. Zürcher, returned to his home village, and did not die. The young [men, presumably] supported him, built a little church, and asked for a teacher. In Feb. 1937 there were 7 baptised christians and 30 baptismal candidates in this village. His father [or: The Catholic Priest] promised him £1 if he would turn his back on the Basel Mission, but he refused categorically."
Annotation: "Daniel Lambib.
