Photograph caption dated March 14, 1958 reads, "Girls learn new hobby - Mrs. George Peterson, center, adult adviser for Blue Bird group from Chandler Elementary School, teaches girls how to paint sculpted figurines. Youngsters, from left to right are: Paula Nowels, Anne Peterson, Chris Monte and Trucey Farnham. All are eight years old. Blue Birds are youngest group of Camp Fire program and five adults are needed for each group formed. Valley Volunteer Bureau provides many of women who teach girls how to grow up. Bureau, however, needs more volunteers to cope with growing program. Women interested in giving their time to help others may contact bureau at STate 5-8861 or DIckens 2-2696."
