Description
Photograph of a drawing by Edward Vischer depicting the ruins of Elder Lyman and Richie's residence (Charles C. Rich Palatial Residence?) in San Bernardino, April 1865-1873. Three unsaddled horses lay and graze on the side of the hill at center, on the top of which a cabin surrounded by wooden pillars can be seen behind a free-standing wall of arched through-ways. To the right along the hill, several other cabins are pictured, each with multiple doors. Trees dapple the hillside to the left. The text below the image reads: "Supplementary Drawings of 1873", "A Mormon Relic", and "Mormon Colony at San Bernardino from 1848 to 1857. (1857 Exodus on account of the war.)".
