St. Francis Dam in San Francisquito Canyon near Saugus was completed in 1926 and failed in 1928. It was part of the Owens Valley Aqueduct System. This post-failure photograph shows a view of the devastation caused by the 100 foot high wall of water which raced towards Ventura. Here everything is washed away that was in the path of the water.
