Presidential Candidate Ángel Aníbal Guevara (center left) and his running mate Ramiro Ponce Monroy (right) of the National Unity Front (FUN in Spanish), sit with their wives at a campaign rally in March 1982. On March 8, 1982 he won the presidential election although electoral fraud was claimed by other parties. They are both wearing hats and sunglasses as are many others in the crowd behind them. Both Guevara and Ponce Monroy salute the crowd.
