Written on back: "FERRY BOAT EL CAPITAN - One of the San Francisco & Oakland Railroad's ferrys that plied the bay in the seventies and eighties. Notable for a murder case involving prominent San Franciscans. The walking-beam on the top deck was long a familiar sight on the Bay even after the disapperance of paddle-wheels. Print 13x22 Colored by hand After the original in the Print Collection of the California Historical Society, Impression $62.50.
