Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph article dated February 5, 1962 partially reads, "Looking at the top photo, the one showing Valley actress Paula Lane with her pet tiger, brings to mind... HER PET TIGER??!!... brings to mind the old, old gag (circa Joe Miller) about the guy who told his friend: 'I chust cross-bred un lion mit un canary.' 'Und vat did you get, Charlie?' 'Vell, I ain't shure but ven it speaks, py golly, I tink I better listen!' Vell, the luscious Miss Lane - who really, honest-to-goodness, has a pet tiger - has crossed her beauty with talent and wants to do more acting than the modeling she's now famous for (see other photos)." Note: Photograph caption reads, "As Miss Lane and her tiger's trainer got the nervous animal into position for this picture, the trainer cautioned Valley Times TODAY photog Gordon Dean: 'This cat and strangers don't always get along, so hurry and get your shot.' 'Tie that thing to an anvil,' Dean called from the next yard. 'I got the shot 10 minutes ago!'"; See image #00130729 for additional photo in this series.
