Description
Photograph caption dated August 5, 1987 reads, "A private plane whose engine died while attempting emergency landing rests on busy Prarie Avenue in Hawthorne after it touched down against dented Porsche in foreground. Hours later, a commuter plane heading for Lancaster from LAX and a private craft collided in mid-air over the Antelope Valley. Both planes involved in the near-disaster managed to land safely, and, amazingly, there were no major injuries in either incident."
