Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes.
Photograph caption dated October 14, 1960 reads "Mrs. Rudd Brown." The article partially reads "Both candidates for Congress from the 21st District were declared the winner in 1958, but only Edgar W. Hiestand went to Washington. His opponent, Mrs. Rudd Brown, was the Congressman from the time the polls closed Tuesday night until a 10,000-vote counting error was discovered Wednesday morning. Now Republican Hiestand and Democrat Mrs. Brown are competing for the seat again, and neither wants so breathless a photo finish this year." See image 00156028 for additional photo in this series.
