Description
Photograph was edited for publication purposes
Photograph article dated March 16, 1963 partially reads, "Islam, known as Mohammedanism or Muhammadanism, is a confirmation - and correction - of Judaism and Christianity. It is a way of life. This is an explanation given by Jim Waldron, 19, Pacoima, membership chairman of the Moslem Association of Los Angeles, which encompasses the entire Los Angeles area, including the Valley." Photograph caption reads, "Moslem family - Jim Waldron, 19, Pacoima (back left), visits with Mr. and Mrs. Mustafa K. Amier, North Hollywood, as they discuss their common faith, Islam. They are among the 12 to 15 people in the Valley who attend Moslem meetings in Los Angeles. In front, Amier children, Mediha, 12, Noor, 6, and Nilofar, 17, display large reproduction of the Koran scriptures which hangs on walls of home."
