Description
Slide shows Badwater Basin and a sign describing the site. A man and a woman are visible on the left of the image. The sign reads: "Badwater 280 feet below sea level. In this area is the lowest land in the Western Hemisphere. On the cliff is a sign indicating sea level. The water seen from this point contains five percent salts. The shrubs near the water are pickleweed." Contrary to the information on the sign, Badwater Basin is actually only the lowest point in North America. Laguna del Carbón in Argentina has since been confirmed as the lowest point in the Western Hemisphere. Scanned with Epson Perfection V700 Photo as 3200 dpi TIFF image in 24 bit RGB color.
