Photograph of a view of downtown Los Angeles, looking west down 4th street from the corner of 4th street and Main street, [s.d.]. The busy street is full of people and carriages. Almost all of the people are dressed professionally and all of them are wearing hats. People can be seen conversing with each other, walking down the sidewalk, crossing the street, or riding in their horse-drawn carriages. Streetcar rails run down the middle of the road. Utility wires dangle overhead. The Bank stands about two-stories tall. Column-like buttresses provide support for this Greek-like building. A flagpole stands on top of the roof. Legible signs include: "Farm[ers and] Mer[chants] National Bank of Los Angeles", "S. Main Street", "[...] Schmidt tailor", "trustee property no. 3, Union Trust Building", "café", "O.T. Johns [...], B[...]", "MacF[...]".
