Photograph caption dated January 26, 1961 reads, "A check for $25 was presented Nancy Jones, 8, Valley March of Dimes Poster Girl, as contribution to the campaign now under way to raise funds for crippling diseases. Deacons' members, left to right, Dennis Schneider, 20, president, and Tom Fry, 19, vice president, and Rudy Van Deeven, Sun Valley March of Dimes chairman, make the presentation. The Deacons is a Valley car club. Nancy goes into Children's Hospital today to prepare for surgery Monday to straighten her right leg. The operation is one of four she must undergo."
