Description
“House of Rev. J. D. Landells at Malo, 1887.” External view from the forest of a group of locals standing in front of the missionary’s house, a wooden cottage with a metal sheet roof. The two figures on the veranda may be John Dunlop Landels and his wife. He was ordained by the Sydney Presbytery in 1886 and he remained on Malo until 1902. Landels then served the New South Wales Church and was later translated to Victoria. A Maloese Book was published in 1890 and his Maloese primer and hymn book in 1897.
