Description
Plates in: Atlanta Exposition, Pacific Coast views : [photograph album], pg. [17]. Shows race scene; two dogs in foreground. The play "Dark Secret" opened Oct. 21, 1895 at Morosco's Grand Opera House. Written by C.S. Jefferson, was laid in New England. Featured a regatta scene for which theatre built colossal water tank for play's boatrace. Boats included steam launch. Several dogs on stage. Robert MacArthur oarsman for the Olympic Club participated in race scene. In 1895, Atlanta hosted the Cotton States and International Exposition. Designed to foster trade with South America and Europe, showcased the products and facilities of the region and six other states. California hosted an exhibit of photographs, produce. 2016-3552.
