The group is standing in front of a building. Walther Winkler, born in 1877 in Nazareth, Jamaica. Here he worked as a teacher. In 1908 he married Gertrud Knothe in Niesky. From 1908-11 he worked as a missionary in Suriname. Due to an illness of Mrs. Winkler they had to return to Europe in 1911. From 1913 missionary in South Africa West. From 1913 stationed in Elim.
