Photograph caption dated August 28, 1958 reads, "Dr. Fred O. Galler, left, sits in silent thought with Norman Carey, right, during arraignment in Burbank Municipal court on two counts of kidnap and assault with intent to commit murder. They are charged with kidnaping and shooting German refugee last June in Burbank. Dorothy Nelson was also arraigned." Galler and Carey were accused of kidnapping, beating, and shooting German immigrant, Gunter H. Seutter on June 18, 1958, in his Burbank apartment. Galler had paid Carey to beat up Seutter in revenge for Seutter's sister rejecting him after a brief romantic relationship in Germany.
