Photograph of aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss at the wheel of an airplane at Dominguez Field, ca.1912. Curtiss is seated at center and has both hands on a metal control wheel at right. He is wearing a pinstriped suit and tie with a dark hat and has a thick dark mustache. The canvas-covered wings of the airplane are visible at the top and bottom of the image, and the small engine is mounted behind Curtiss's head at left.
