Note translation: "Abetifi mission station. On the [?lawn] children are playing in a circle." (D-30-0,1). - Published as no 46 in the album 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuchâtel 1895. (RI). - Caption in the album: "Abetifi mission station. - Abetifi, the capital of the Okwawu province and situated at its centre, was chosen to be the seat of our first Asante mission station in 1876. The station was built by the two missionaries Werner and Weimer in a very friendly and relatively healthy region. To the right of the two-storey mission house is a chapel with a small tower with two bells which were donated by friends. On the grass pupils of the elementary school are at play." - The French caption relates to the preceding image in the album (in our system: D-30.14.063) and begins "A deux pas de ce fétiche Dentè, on entre dans un joli sentier qui, contournant la colline, nous amène en 7 à 8 minutes à la station d'Abetifi ... " (PJ 07.1998). - For same place see D-30.14.007/8/9/10. (PST).
