Description
A view of Broadway looking north from 10th St. (later renamed Olympic Boulevard for the 1932 Olympic Games). In the foreground on the left is the Herald-Examiner Building designed by Julia Morgan. Directly across the street the Case Hotel (now the Job Corps Building), which was designed by C.E. Noerenberg & Johnson, is under contruction. A little further down the on the left is the Western Pacific Building. Near the center of the picture a traffic cop stands on a small "island" in the middle of the street where Broadway turns slightly westward past Broadway Place. On the right farther north in the picture is the New Orpheum Theatre building near 9th St. Streetcars travel north and south on the two sets of tracks in the street.
