Photograph of colored painting of a sailing ship on sea, showing thick pink clouds against a blue sky, ca.1700. At center, the large brown hull of the ship pushes up against a slight wave as it moves along the ocean. A stripe of red lines the bottom of the hull, and a gold-colored decoration is mounted beneath the point of the blow. Above this decoration, a small red star-shaped emblem is visible. Two tall masts are visible at the center of the ship, and a small angled mast leans over the bow. Each mast supports six main sails and several side sails connected with various ropes. Four circular platforms are visible along the body of the frontal mast. Small flags can be seen at the top of each mast. In the background, several large pink clouds can be seen against the blue sky. In the foreground, shades of green and red are visible within the blue water.
