(Left to Right) Woodbury University President Wayne L. Miller, Gwendolyn S. Miller, Jaime Escalante, and Dr. Jacqueline Powers-Doud are in the Woodbury University library for an event known as a roundtable discussion. Jaime Escalante was a Bolivian-American educator known for teaching students who were predominantly low income. Dr. Jacqueline Powers-Doud was the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Dean of the Faculty at Woodbury University during the 1980s. She was the 11th president of Mount Saint Mary’s University and the first president who was a layperson (not holding an ordained religious position). She served from 2000 to 2011.
