Photograph caption dated December 12, 1957 reads, "First cars roll down off-ramp of new Hollywood Freeway extension section which has opened outbound lanes. Stretch runs from Lankershim boulevard to Moorpark street. New off-ramp to Vineland Avenue was opened. Inbound lanes are scheduled to open by mid-January."
