Photograph of a low wooden framework being built during the construction of City Garage in Pershing Square, Los Angeles, 1951. The wooden structure Is at center and is mostly composed of bare beams. There is some sort of roof over part of the structure at left. In the background at right, two cranes and a steam shovel are visible. The structure and the machinery are located in the bottom of a pit that has been dug out well below street level. Several large buildings can be seen around the edge of the pit in the background.
