Photograph caption dated October 17, 1960 reads, "Valley pioneer Fred Weddington and Mrs. Frances Muir Pomeroy, San Fernando Valley Historian Society president, reminisce together at 'Valley Pioneer Picnic' held at North Hollywood Park. Weddington, picnic chairman, hold two large peaches, mindful of days when area was called 'Lankershim, Home of the Peaches,' while Mrs. Pomeroy holds relic church bell used in mission patio years ago."
