Photograph caption dated October 21, 1963 reads "Joe Benaron, left, president of the Thomas Organ Co., 8345 Hayvenhurst Ave., one of the largest industrial plants in Sepulveda, discusses preliminary sketch of the Sepulveda entry in the Tournament of Roses Parade. With Benaron are George Brudney, center, vice president of the Sepulveda Chamber of Commerce, and Howard Kebler, chamber president. The float will include four electronic Thomas Organs with organists playing music appropriate to the theme, 'Music of Freedom.' Value of the completed float is estimated at over $20,000. Contract to design and build the Sepulveda entry was awarded on a competitive basis to last year's sweepstakes winner, Miller Bros., float builders of Alhambra. Sepulveda is the only community west of Burbank in the Valley with an entry in the Tournament of Roses Parade this year and will be the first Sepulveda has ever entered in the annual event."
