Description
Taken on May 3, 1947 this photograph shows some pre-summer activity at the crowded Riverside Pool, also known as the Land Park Plunge. Two lifeguards in elevated observation seats watch the men, women and children that swim, slide and dive in the water, the women and girls wearing mandatory rubber swim caps. A game, observation and sun-bathing area across from the lifeguard stations is within easy access to the busy refreshment center.
