Photograph caption dated October 13, 1964 reads, "Black cats, witches and goblins will attend the annual costume ball sponsored by the San Fernando Florence Crittenton Circle Oct. 30 at the Castaway Restaurant in Burbank. All dressed in their Halloween attire for the event are, from left, Mmes. Ray Bishop, president; Lawrence Dick, George Henderson and Gerald Knight. Other committee members are Mmes. Howard Brock, Don Swett, Don Hutchings, Carroll Hare, Leonard Hoff, Allan Barrett, Harold Hutchings, Oliver Jensen, Kenneth Ledbetter, Jack Monteverde and Barnes Powers. All proceeds will be donated to Florence Crittenton Home for unwed mothers in Los Angeles. The home is entirely supported by the circles, voluntary contributions, a thrift shop and an annual fund drive at Christmas."
