Description: Exterior view of Hattem's Market at 4277 So. Western Ave., one of Southern California's first supermarkets. Here is the fountain next to the parking lot. Owned by Isadore M. (I.M.) Hattem, the market was built in 1927 for $30,000 and designed by architect Walter R. Hagedohm. Photo dated: December 17, 1927, its opening day.
