A fallen Santa Fe bridge lies in the rushing water of the Los Angeles River, looking upstream on March 4, 1941. No trains were endangered as the bridge collapse was discovered in time, and Santa Fe trains to and from the east were routed via Fullerton. Other bridges over the swollen river were considered safe.
