Description
Brian Casebolt is a Senior Chemical Engineering student at USC. He knew nothing of his cousin Rob's service in Vietnam prior to this interview. Hung Lac is a Senior Biochemistry student at USC. A Chinese-ethnic Vietnamese, he immigrated to the U.S. from Vietnam with family by the sponsorship of his uncle in the year 2002, at the age of 14. Growing up, he only knew about the Vietnam War from the Vietnamese history classes taught in schools and from very brief stories his mother related. [Profiler bio] Robert B. Elliott was born in 1949 in Denver, Colorado. Not knowing what he wanted to do with the rest of his life, he went to Vietnam in November, 1968, looking for a complete change of scenery. As a volunteer in the US Army, he served his country in many different capacities. Having completed two full tours of duty, between November 1968 and November 1970, Robert returned home to go to college, studying Psychology and Sociology at Metropolitan State College in Denver. After graduating, Robert became very active in the United Food and Commercial Workers Union, becoming a representative and organizer for that organization. He is now retired in Grand Junction, Colorada with his wife Beverly. [Profile bio]
