Description
Taken in 1951, this photograph shows the Sacramento Solons baseball team at Edmonds Field, located at Broadway and Riverside Boulevard. After a successful individual season from Joe Gordon, who had 136 runs batted in and 43 home runs, the Solons finished eighth in the nine team Pacific Coast League. After being in first place halfway through the season at 44 and 33, the Solons lost two-thirds of their remaining games to sink out of contention.
