Photograph caption dated April 18, 1961 reads "James R. Ross, left; Paul Roest, center, and Los Angeles Superior Judge Julian Beck make plans for the Valley observance of Law Day, scheduled for May 1. Designed to counteract the Communist celebration of May Day, Law Day emphasizes that this country cherishes a respect for law, as opposed to the tyranny of Communism. Interested groups may obtain free speakers as well as literature for the celebration from Ross, chairman of the Valley Bar Association's Law Day program. His phone number is DI-7-8066."
