Photograph caption dated April 24, 1961 reads "Retreat conferences will be held in above chapel." The article partially reads "The Valley's first Catholic retreat house for women will be opened in San Fernando next July by Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Immaculate Conception. Mother Mary of Jesus, O.S.F., regional superior, said construction of the mission-style retreat building is nearing completion on the grounds of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Novitiate, 1519 Woodworth St., San Fernando. It is called the Poverello of Assisi Retreat and will be open to Catholic and non-Catholic women, with the first retreat tentatively scheduled for August."; See images #00128762 through #00128763 for all photos in this series.
