Description
Jean Lipman-Bluman and Grace Gabe discuss their book, “Step Wars.” They begin by explaining that to research the book they interviewed 111 people. Dr. Gabe discusses the intense feelings that adult children experience when their parents remarry at an older age. Dr. Lipman-Bluman explores the protocol for the wedding of an older couple and the problems that ensue from secret marriages. They then go on to discuss the “five furies” which are categories they developed to explore the issues involved in adult step-families. They then stress the importance of patience and understanding.
