Description
A woman in dress for February 1826. She wears a white hat with a white brim edged with yellow. At the center of the underside of the brim is an amber ornament attached to a swath of yellow fabric ending in a large bow on top of the hat. A large orange-yellow plume sticks out from the bow and hangs to the side. In her hair are two pink flowers with green leaves. She is adorned with a pair of pearl earrings and a double stranded pearl necklace with an amber ornament in the center. Her dress is light yellow and has a straight neckline and short, puffed sleeves that sit off the shoulder. On the sleeves are several rows of ruffles. The bodice of her dress has buttons down the front and two curved rows of piping in curves on the front to the waist. The dress is belted with a yellow and red striped sash with a rectangular buckle and long ends with fringe. She wears a pair of white, elbow length gloves with gold bracelets over them. The skirt of her dress has buttons down the front from the waist to almost the floor. The bottom of her skirt has a double row of double bell-shaped piping around the whole hem. Within these curves are double ruffles with a stem and flower on each, all made of the same yellow fabric as the dress. She wears a pair of white shoes and holds a white handkerchief and black fan in her hand.
