Miss Gladyce Toscano, who is responsible for the daily allotment of 6000 hypodermic needles and syringes in Los Angeles County General Hospital, is shown with a machine used in the process of cleaning the instruments. Thus, the hospital will be ready to use the Salk vaccine against polio.
