Photograph caption dated July 13, 1957 reads, "Charlie (Tombstone) Smith, California welterweight champion, will put down his guitar long enough to lace on the gloves for a 10-rounder with France's Marcel Pigou tonight at Hollywood Legion Stadium. Tombstone can really play the guitar as well as fight."
