Aircraft's speed, location and path is charted." The article partially reads "Working closely with the Lockheed Constellations flying radar patrol duty in the Pacific to extend the nation's defense against sneak aerial attack are the ships of CONAD, a joint Army-Navy-Air Force command established by the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1954." The men are on the picket ship U.S.S. Scanner, moored at Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay.
