Text written under photo: "Car Strike Scene on Market St. & Sutter 1907." View looks west on Sutter from Market. Four streetcars are seen along with a crowd of strikers on and off the sidewalk on the right. Policemen are also in evidence. Some construction is going on but a good deal of the rubble and ruins left over from the fire has not been cleared away yet. A few temporary, one-story, wooden structures can also be seen, including one housing the Schwabacher & Frey Stationery Co.
