Description
Two Indian heroes, veterans of Pacific campaigns in World War II, are shown on March 22, 1947, as they visited Mayor Fletcher Bowron, center. They were accompanied by friends. The heroes are: Ira Hayes, left, survivor of the historic flag-raising at Mt. Suribachi on Iwo-Jima; and Henry Reed, survivor of the Bataan death march.
