Photograph caption dated April 20, 1956 reads, "Thousands of new homes are filling desert wastes as agriculture and industry attract new families to Valley. Building volume grew phenomenally from 563 permits, including 91 dwelling units worth 900,890 in 1945 to 3,910 permits--with 2,251 homes--valued at $27,195,702 last year. County is planning $1,000,00 regional park at Piute Butte with golf course, swimming pool and Indian Museum for new influx.; See images #00116668 through #00116673 for all photos in this series.
